Joe Root Furious After Brydon Carse Nightclub Incident

England captain Joe Root has expressed frustration and disappointment after another off-field incident involving an England player overshadowed preparations for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord’s.

Fast bowler Brydon Carse was omitted from England’s XI after an incident outside a nightclub. Carse, who was reportedly briefly arrested but not charged, is facing an investigation by the Cricket Regulator over a possible breach of the ECB’s code of conduct.

Root said the repeated incidents have been disappointing and stressed the importance of maintaining the standards expected from players representing England. Carse had been one of England's leading performers during the Ashes, making his absence from the Pakistan Test particularly notable.

England head into the Lord’s Test with a 1–0 series lead over Pakistan after winning the opening match by an innings and 103 runs. The second Test begins on August 27.
